I have been digging into the world of E&O insurance, and all the policies I'm looking at are over engineered labyrinths. Additionally, most of the carriers I have talked with have little understanding of technology companies.

I'm looking for some advice on what a SaaS startup should be looking for in E&O insurance and suggestions for providers that understand tech startups.

I have been using moniker.com to register my domains for years. They have always been solid, but their name servers are failing today and they have no indication of when they will be fixed. I use AWS, so I'm looking into Route 53. There are numerous DNS providers so I want to see what the HN community suggests.

I'm trying to understand the value of white labeling from both the customer and business sides.

On the customer side, what was the advantage for using a white labeled solution? Which ones have you used?

On the business side, what did you notice about offering a white labeled solution? (Conversion, pricing, offering type, stickiness)

I have focused the majority of my web development career on developing web interfaces with Javascript/CSS/HTML. I'm pretty comfortable on the command line in a Linux environment. Last night I started playing the AWS EC2 and I'm itching to start building a dynamic application. The last piece is picking a language, the problem, there are so many I don't know which one to invest my time in.

Right now I'm considering:

PHP Python Ruby on Rails Node.js

A buddy and I were playing with the YouTube chromeless player, Javascript API, and data API the last couple weeks and next thing you know we made essentially Pandora for Videos. Leveraging jQuery on the front end and a bunch of intelligent filtering, recommendation, and sequencing algorithms (to handle videos in parts 1 of 4, 2 of 4, etc.) on the back end we ended up with a pretty fun web app.

Try typing in a random topic (I dig Heli Skiing & High Stakes Poker) or your favorite musicians (Weezer, Miike Snow are both great) and sit back and enjoy.
