Redirecting all requests for a day worked well to raise awareness about SOPA. If there are enough companies willing to sign on, each responding to hits from the offending ISP with "You can't use our site, and it's your provider's fault," I think they'd have the upper hand.
The equivalent has been done by individual cable channels when feuding with providers like Comcast and DirecTV, so it's not without precedent, and it seems like it would work.
