The were no major international companies IPO on the Hong Kong stock exchange. The listing companies were overwhelmingly chinese ones. When American companies leave HK, all the trust in HK being an "international city" will be gone.

US tech companies never had much presence in Hong Kong to begin with. You can't "leave" a place if you never really been there in the first place.

Is it not more likely the "threat" is to turn off HK Google and turn on China Google.
