Ask HN: Where can I learn how lawyers think?

I'm a developer increasingly getting interested in privacy and compliance, or the intersection of IT and law.

I would like to understand better how lawyers think. What are the fundamentals of law?

Can anyone recommend me an introduction resource aimed at the layman? Preferably some engaging MOOC, but a good book would also be valuable.
