When is a comment not worth posting anymore here at HN? I.e. with the risk of it going unseen.

E.g.

* incognito always * tor browser * switched X app for Y

...

For me it's on a basic level: incognito mode block cookies as much as I can

So this is in the context of privacy, data breaches, cookies and all that. Google relies heavily on ads, I presume much of their revenue is dependent on ads network.

To tackle privacy concerns and user data collection. If Google hypothetically considered to get rid of user data, they'd need another income source. Would a subscription be something you pay for? Sure, they wont customise search results, maybe at worst (?) you end up like DuckDuckGo.

This discussion could also be divided further, e.g.

1. How many articles do you click and read through entirely?

1a do you navigate to second, third page?

2. Would you appreciate the content more if you knew there was a time window until new content could be posted?
