It's a search engine, in sense that it lets you search for information on internet(limited to twitter while we are optimizing our web crawler). The UI is unconventional for the search engines we're used to seeing; and thats coz we're trying a different approach to interact with information.
Though i never had a chance to use Blekko, but looking from all the info on the press about Rockzi, the UI might have some resemblance, but there is no manual curation happening at http://crrnt.is/ unlike at Rockzi. Instead its all curated and categorized using NLP techniques for all the content our application stumbles upon.
