I've been doing technical support for a big player in the industry and while the name on the resume is really neat, the mood doesn't fit me much.
I've been lurking the European market for this kind of position, it seems like it pops up really rarely, whereas the superstar growth hacker / software engineers positions are overwhelming the market.
I totally get the reason behind but it left me wondering whether this kind of job do exist for small structures.
I've got an associate degree in Webdev/Communication and I've played played a bit on both backend and frontend - understand I'm no rockstar and I'm kinda concerned about how the future is shaping for my career.
I'm still young (>25), bilingual and I learn fast so I'm hopefully able to get back in the game before I'm deemed too old by the market, but I've got to admit that while I did not really choose this path, I've grown to like it.
Whether it's being in-between devs, PM and sales, solving these (usually) short issues, providing consulting and being the feedback point of contact, managing the knowledge and sharing it.
Is there hope for my kind of profile in the startup env (I'm definitively done with huge corps) or should I try and go back at pure webdev (aiming mostly Europe but any feedback is appreciated) ?
Longer than expected but hey it's not twitter, might as well use the real estate. Oh and I'm talking _technical_ support, there's no joy in pure customer support (lack any kind of intellectual challenge).
Thanks.
