There is never a way to stop that if you want to communicate with someone over a device. That is why DRM doesn't work.

A feature of OTR is you can't prove who wrote which message.

Depends on the standard of proof.

If you get a device and download a bunch of logs, that's going to be enough for most purposes unless you're actively engaging in counter-espionage (planting fake logs, mixing up your comms etc.)
