I've noticed this book is very popular among engineers (real engineers, with 4-yr degrees in engineering from accredited schools), but not so much with compsci people.
The professor for my software engineering class mentioned it briefly at the beginning of the semester, but it was never brought up again. If you don't do a lot of learning on your own, you're probably not going to encounter it.
