American automakers - good engineering, good designers but politicians i.e protecting the jobs & Wall Street short-term thinking get in the way.

Rivian and Lucid are both American automakers, as is Tesla.

The politicians are just the cogs in the system. It's the CEOs and shareholders that are paying them that are the problem.
