Consider if all the money wasted on the Ukraine invasion had been spent on (or by) the Russian people instead. Even if you won the war tomorrow, it'd take a hundred years to recover.

Ok, let's consider that money.

In 2025 Russian military spending was about 7% of GDP[0], and the GDP PPP was over 7 trillion dollars[1].

What's there to recover for hundred years?

And the US spent in 2025 five times more than Russia despite not being at war with anyone.[2] They would rather spend $10 to fuck with other countries than $1 improving their own, right?
