Ubuntu 26.10 Looks to Strip Its Grub Bootloader to the Bare Minimum for Security (opens in new tab)

I don't see any actual security benefits here. The only things that seem to actually benefit from this are Treacherous Computing and tivoization. Why are so many Linux maintainers doing stuff like this lately?

Please do not remove any essential features.
