The ancient reason there are 60 minutes in an hour (opens in new tab)

60 is the smallest of the five numbers below 100 (the other being 72, 84, 90, 96) that have most divisors (12, to be exact).

Interesting — I always just accepted that it’s 60 and never questioned it.
