It was definitely easier pre-LLM. The difference between launching things today and 10 years ago is night and day. When I made websequencediagrams.com, it was free and companies would email wanting to buy it for use internally based on a single blog post.
Today, you can have the best technology but distribution is indeed the bottleneck. Getting noticed in the post-LLM world is tough.
