FWIW, while I'm complaining about this site I'm actually adding a nice easy-on-the eyes particle system in the background of a point-and-click online game. You don't put it
in front of the content or
behind text people are supposed to read.
This is such a common failure mode with coders who do their own design. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
