In principle I like it, though it's a little bit too abstract. What's missing for me are
some contours of the city first, let's say rivers, major highways, grabbed from whichever source, and overlaid, dimmed. Second: "I can haz metric units, plz?" ;->

edit: Regarding units, switchable between nautical(knots), imperial(miles), metric, maybe?
