Why isn't editing the AppArmor profiles on the list of possible solutions? Sounds like the obvious approach...

The author points out that you can still pass through the GPU for transcoding just fine, you just can't monitor the GPU at a per container level. While that is annoying, I wouldn't say it renders unprivileged LXCs pointless...

Sounds like the correct solution for now is for those users to keep running Proxmox 8 until there's a better solution in Proxmox 9.

Proxmox 8 should still be receiving support until Aug 2026, so there's roughly about a year for that better solution to appear:
