A sharpened stick is a tool that can be used either to spear fish or to blind someone.

Is the person who first made a sharpened a stick responsible if some people choose to do the latter?

This sort of argument is as old as humanity and is anti-tool, anti-progress, anti-technology and ultimately anti-intelligence. Not to mention entirely futile at this point.
