usually, selfhosting is not particularly hard. It's just conceptually way beyond what the average joe is able to do. (Not because they're not smart enough, but simply because they never learned to and will not learn now because they don't want to form that skill set. And I'm not hating on boomers, you can make the same argument with your hypothetical kids or spouse.
