This is over my head I guess...the paradox is people are lazy?

The kitchen counter is full of dishes, but the dishwasher has some free space. My point is, that people assume that there are dishes on the counter thus dishwasher has to be full.

Maybe some people assume the dishwasher is full, but some people are too lazy to check, and others are just copying everyone else.

Ironic that you make assumptions in a post about people making assumptions.

I like how succinct this is at making the point. I would just remove the note in the parentheses, it kind of led me astray and confused me.

You need a sign to the effect, all unattended dishes will be found in the bin next to the trash can.
