Since WWII, a significant portion of the scientific talent in the U.S. has come from abroad and have made great contributions to our innovation, wealth, and global stature.
Now, these scientists are leaving, and as a result we can expect far fewer to come in the future.
This is a big deal. Countries around the world have envied the U.S. for its ability to attract the best talent. The current administration has jeopardized this critical advantage in a matter of weeks. Mark my words, we won't regain it in our lifetimes.
