Really? There's not a single political article on the HN front page right now, and even when there is, it's usually just one or two. Most of the rest is about software or tech, with the largest non-tech minority being about nonpolitical things of general interest to the tech community.
Even on the "new" page right now, there's not a single thing about politics, although usually there's a couple, which is a greater rate than happens in calmer times.
Political items may annoy you to the point where that's all you see, but they remain a small minority of what HN has going on. Most of the items are tech-related, and most of those aren't even about AI.
