That is actually wrong.

In total the US falls behind. Additionally about 70% of the aid by the US flows back to the US weapons manufacturers.

"The Kiel Institut for World Economics (Germany) has calculated that the support by the European Union and its member states is surpassing the support by the US. While it is true that the US delivered more weapons, they are far behind in terms of financial support and humanitarian aid."

While Donald Trump demands 500 billion dollars in minerals from Ukraine for further support, their contribution so far is less than 120 billion dollars.

The Kiel Institute for the World Economy, a research group based in Germany that tracks support from foreign governments toward Ukraine, estimates that the U.S. has allocated about $119 billion. The reason the estimate is different from U.S. government data, the institute explains, is because it only includes direct aid to Ukraine -- not money appropriated in the bills that relate to Ukraine but are not bilateral, such restocking U.S. weapon stockpiles or aiding refugees.

By comparison, Kiel found European nations have all together allocated around $138 billion to Ukraine.

It’s kind of baffling how Trump, a famed liar, made this claim, and people just… went along with it? Like, it’s _Trump_. It’s not even a “trust, but verify” situation, it is an “assume made up, and verify” situation.

In real life, the US has committed ~120bn euro of which 114bn has been allocated; Europe (including the UK) has committed 250bn euro of which 130bn has been allocated (in both cases this is a combo of military aid and economic support). So about the same in terms of money spent, though the US would find it much easier to _stop_ spending.

Even the most extravagant US _official_ (ie not just made up by Trump) claims would only come to about 170bn.

Sad day for US loving people, I would say.

At this rythm, it will soon become a political statement to not boo the US anthem before sports games.
