Interesting this is right off the heels of Copilot's very similar announcement yesterday, Copilot Next Edit Suggestions [1]

Looks like both have settled on basically the same UI.

IIRC that feature was pioneered by Cursor.

Codeium/Windsurf calls their Supercomplete and since yesterday it is in the free version.
