Yes, you can still click through if you don't hover, and the account is gone.

Presumably, the code that shows the preview just doesn't handle deleted accounts gracefully.

Unfortunate that they deleted it and didn't / couldn't lock the account and flag all its submissions as suspect while leaving them in place for review.
