- no popup to choose a date, none of the date format variations I entered (US and ISO) were accepted, got an opaque 'your search parameters are not valid'
- search for 'San Sebastian', get 'did you mean San Sebastian, Spain' which is unclickable
- forgets form fields between http requests
These all look good, however most of them look like they are still trying to get to MVP.
There are lots of gems out there, I wish TC and others would stop the bullshit and just write about the best start ups not just the ones funded or founded by rock stars.
If you're interested, here's the article: http://techcrunch.com/2012/07/03/appthwack-takes-on-android-...
An article on TechCrunch is more likely to earn your company reputation among your peers (other companies and investors) than do anything for your user experience. And the best start-ups are 100% focused on the user experience, not on their "inter-corporate reputation".
TechCrunch needs to actively search for these start-ups in their earlier stages in order to cover them. The best early-stage start-ups won't go to TechCrunch until they've already gotten big.
If so, clever strategy for getting press, esp. on HN.
