ProductHunt has had a referrer parameter at the end since the beginning of the lunch (2013) and I am wondering if this is good practice.
It may be a benefit to the issuer's marketing, but not to the consumer.
The reason is that consumers manually remove the parameter `?ref=foo` when they bookmark or share a page correctly as a courtesy to the product developer.
I like Hotdog Punk, It's enough as alt PH.
I just question the practice that has been going on for over a decade.
I am eagerly awaiting a new alternative technology that puts developers first.
