I've lived in Fort Devens Massachusetts, and I've lived in Palo Alto, Saratoga, Atherton, and on the Stanford campus. Anyone considering Stanford vs. MIT, or any west vs. east school or job, should not underestimate the tremendous advantage of the California climate over the East coast.
