Why should they be obliged to pay for the news if they don't want it because it isn't valuable for them?

Is it immoral not to buy the $15 hotdog at a sports stadium even if you decide you're not that hungry?

If news isn't valuable to Facebook that's great for everybody then. Users leave facebook to look for news in place of getting informed by their echo-chambers. Win-win-win.

It did. They are complaining that people spent less time enganged on social media. This is positive.
