Tell HN: Snap may be adding contacts without permission

Wife just had this happen to her. Seems it started around June 22. Has 5 people she hasn't added herself as new friends. (No mischief, one of them is her father's girlfriend daughter, none of which she'd touch with a ten foot pole.)

I checked her app settings, all permissions are disabled save for camera and photos, which is her only use case for the app (filters).

Has anyone else experienced this or has any insight into how to turn off this "feature"? Serious privacy implications if it's just gone on autopilot.
