In web dev, we often have staging links, screenshots from dev environments, assets that are in progress (like PDFs), and it creates a loose constellation of important items that aren't all files, aren't all links, sometimes they're visual and sometimes they're just content.
I would hope I could email a staging link once and everyone knows how to retrieve it from their email, but that doesn't always happen. Same with every other type of related asset here.
I'm looking for anecdotal experience for what has worked to keep everyone on the same page with all the items that fly around with a big website project, without me having to regularly prepare something like a shared document with links and embeds (or is that the best system in your experience?!). I don't want more work for myself, but if this is indeed _a job_, I can definitely make the case that more of my time needs to be spent here and less elsewhere.
We're an enterprise shop, so think MS Office and a resistance to signing up to another service. Even if money isn't an object, folks really don't want to make new accounts, and IT would also prefer it.
