People don't realize how powerful and scary suppression of speech is, and how much it skews international opinion.
My mother, who moved out of Iran right before the revolution _still_ lowers her voice when talking about certain subjects of Iran. When no one else is in the room, in the United States of America. It's deeply engrained in her mind.
It's very refreshing to hear this man's opinion. But remember, this is rare. This man could have died on one of the many times when he was protesting hamas. Some of his friends were not so lucky. We are lucky to be hearing his voice.
