I don't know. Cleanliness? These are lists of people you are interested in and people who are interested in you but there's a bunch of junk in there.

I block bots based on the vague hope that new bots use old bots follow lists.

There are a ton of bots on X and this script can be used to remove bot followers in batches. It's risky but fun.

I didn't even realise you could force people to unfollow you.

What benefits are there in making bots stop following you?

No benefits that I know of other than bots not in those follower lists
