9 months ago someone asked if there's a self hosted alternative to gpt-4: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=36138224

The answer then was "no, everything is using openai."

Curious if there has been any movement on this front?

Mixtral instruct is good but not gpt4 level good. If you have a silicon macbook, download lm studio and play around with some of the top models.
