While the app sounds interesting, any takes on the theory behind the so-called planning poker? Why Fibonacci numbers? Why not "probabilities" like one would do in "real" poker, risk analysis, etc.?

I honestly don't know. My guess is that they were trying to show an exponential growth of complexity after some point, rather than a linear one.
