Hi Everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. I recently joined and am encountering an issue with commenting on ASK posts. I'm unsure if it's related to my low karma, as I only joined yesterday, or if I might be missing a step. Could someone kindly guide me on the correct process or inform me if there are any specific requirements for commenting?

Some new accounts need another user to 'vouch' first. I clicked that button now.

Your first submission was "Looking for Entry Level Software Engineer Job in India". Job posts, including looking for a job, are not allowed. That's listed in the FAQ (https://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html). Next month you can add yourself (add a comment) to the "Who wants to be hired?" https://news.ycombinator.com/submitted?id=whoishiring list.

Your second submission was "Show HN: What Is Open Source vs Free Software". Show is for something you've build (https://news.ycombinator.com/showhn.html). Quoting a piece of text without source (who is being quoted) wasn't enough for anybody to upvote the submission.

Hi,Thanks for your help. I wanted to post the comment on the ask HN:who wants to hired but unbale to comment so i was figuring out over internet but unable to find it.

Right now as well I am unable to comment in the ASK:HN who wants to be hired(December,2023)even after you vouch me, why so ?.

You posted in https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38666225 that is the wrong thread. Are you trying to repost that in the correct thread? Perhaps the system detects the duplication??? (I never hear that, but there are a few hidden features.)

ok , could you kindly please tell like how to comment or post in a thread may be i am doing in the wrong way like I post through submit option , in title i add some random title related to text , and i keep url blank and write the description or text in the text box and then submit it.Is this i am doing in the right way ?.

For ask section thread, i can see option to reply to others comment but unable to comment my own message.
