I'm trying to imagine why someone would want to do business with the deadbeat CEO^W (oops I forgot he's not "CEO"...), the answer I can come up with is "because there might be money in it for me". And secondarily "If I don't grab the chance someone else might profit instead!".
I guess it's due to the same reasoning that at the end of the famous fable, the emperor's courtiers were still pretending the emperor isn't naked, despite everyone, including the emperor, knowing full well he is.
