Doctors frequently monetize suffering quite directly. Farmers monetize hunger. Carpenters monetize exposure to the elements. Priests monetize existential suffering.

YouTube informs the wider world about it while monetizing suffering. Would they do it as effectively as a non-profit?

Not even wrong.

Those people directly or indirectly alleviate the unwanted condition (though that's debatable where priests are concerned). Youtube is exploiting it without doing anything about it. They're not 'informing the wider world about it'.

I can only reconcile this statement with mine if you are focusing on YouTube's intent and I am focusing on their effect. In effect, regardless of intent, they are obviously informing the wider world about this. For you to deny this seems to mean that you value the intent a lot more than the result.
