Pixel wise lose (MSE/PSNR) is one option, though most also use Structural Similarity Index (SSIM) as it’s more robust.

The process is weird because the website shows the percent bar oscillating back and forth before attributing you a score, if this isn't just an animation. I am curious to know if comparing pixels and their color, the amount of pixels that are this or that hue, is sufficient to give such a result.

Looks like an E34 to me, and the license plate is Belarusian. These aren’t even Russian colors.

Me too but it yielded a shitty image that didn't resemble the original.
