GitHub is pretty excellent.

It’s a loss leader so msft can point to something when you complain about the abusive hellscape that is modern windows.

Works for me; I don't really use Windows. Also GitHub is paid so it does not have to be a loss leader.

Is it really? It’s the “SaaS” all startups I’ve seen seem happy to pay for.
