Check out this blog post I wrote about my evolving understanding of what a website is and how the internet works. I lack a background in computer science, and this posts reflects what I've learned since leaving academia to work as a data scientist in industry. I don't need to know how the internet works for my job, but it's so fundamental to everything that I've picked up some stuff about it.
