The main takeaway is that "open" has lost all meaning. Between OpenAI being what they are and the constant repetition of "open" in referencing Meta's model, I don't see much hope for open source surviving as a meaningful term. Like "Natural" food. That said, having access to the model weights is leaps and bounds better than what OpenAI et al. have done. I still think there's an opportunity for OpenAI to dominate the market by releasing the GPTs under copyleft.
