I was listening to Somebody to Love by Jefferson Airplane and was reminded of reading about the hippie and geeky culture of the city in Steve Jobs's biography by Walter Isaacson. I was wondering what modern tech nerds and geeks think about that time and maybe compare it to the recent culture due to various legal movements for weed and such drugs.

It's interesting as a body of anecdotes, cultural artifacts, and history that shaped my experience indirectly.

For me, it's not something worth the emotional energy of holding opinions over.

I am not unhappy living in the future. YMMV.
