Oh, also I intentionally chose an image that was generated by an AI rather than myself and I did not use any copyright infringing terms to generate it. It also does not contain any trademarks and is substantially different from any previous works created by nintendo.
The main idea was to open a dialogue between free speech idealists, trans folk (+ allies) and make a bit of a conversation about how we all fit in.
It's a bit of a mix of art, politics and science rolled into one. I toyed around with the idea of fuzzing AI dick detection and creating a completely innocent image that still gets picked up as containing a dick.
I used dall-e to generate the original image using the prompt "mario with big nose, profile view, photorealistic”. Pretty much straight away I got an image that tripped Discord's filter.
I played around with it a little and had some help from a friend to add a flag and a message all while still managing to keep it being detected as being "adult". (Image in the URL, https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/968159868211044514/... and again here for the sake of brevity.
As of this morning, this image was impossible to post on any public Discord server that had the "adult" filter set to on. It also tripped a variety of other sites i played around with including imgur and reddit.
I know this while whole thing reeks of conceit, and i'm happy to take any flak for that. If it made just a few people go "huh" for long enough to go away and read into WHY it gets blocked then it is worth it.
