My favorite comedy has been about stereotypes in society, especially negative stereotypes. The joke isn't about the stereotype itself, or the people targeted by the stereotype, but rather the joke is on any dumb-ass who believes in that stereotype (older generations, people with closed minds, etc.) At least that's they way I've always looked at it.

It's been difficult the last few years because no one wants to even acknowledge that these stereotypes exist, like any joke or mention of them is hurtful.
