The goal is to eliminate that altogether, at least in the design phase. You put down the modules, they see each other, can communicate, do the coding about which modules' signal goes where, what processes what etc., and when you are done it either works as is or an automated thing can create the final boards/cabling/wiring for you.

The less hurdles in the prototyping phase the better. I know it sounds impossible, but this wiring this to that always gets on my nerves.

So a software wiring kinda thing with a "wireless" approach would be very much welcomed.
