Civilian drones are very limited and dangerous for military use. For example, they expose the location of the drone operator, making him a target. A significant number of operators died because they used civilian drones at the front line.

I have heard from first-hand sources that the Ukrainian military wipes DJI drone firmware to remove the integrated location pings.

Have you heard this doesn't work sometimes, or are there other commercial drones that report?
