It uses a customized model, so no matter what you type you will get quality anime & manga renders.
You can merge models yourself in stable diffusion if you want to avoid paying a monthly fee. But from what I've seen, they put a lot of effort into that custom model and it would not be a straightforward thing to replicate it.
