Svalbard – where the sun don’t shine (for 5 months) (opens in new tab)

Life is Svalbard over winter is a life without the Sun. Way north of Norway and well into the Arctic Circle, there’s more polar bears than people. I visited earlier in the year (March), just as the sun showed back up. It’s frigging magical!
