Reminds me of Rich Hickey's sabbatical he went on to make Clojure. It cost him this retirement but he was able to improve much more than just his own development experience. That's probably the real reason for entrepreneurship. Why go after "spiky", unstable cash flow and burn savings? It's got to matter for other reasons too.
